Belfiato Quintet

The Belfiato Quintet is one of the most prominent chamber ensembles on the Czech music scene. Its members are not only sought-after chamber music players and soloists with leading Prague orchestras, but also laureates of prestigious international competitions such as the ARD competition in Munich and the Prague
Spring Competition. The ensemble has also long been working in cooperation with the members of the renowned Afflatus Quintet
Radek Baborák and Ondřej Roskovec.
Besides its busy schedule of recitals in this country and abroad, in recent seasons the Belfiato has been sharing the concert stage with the singers Kateřina Kněžíková, Petr Nekoranec, and Pavel Černoch and with the Epoque Quartet. The Belfiato Quintet is a laureate of the Antonín Rejcha Prize from the Semmering Festival in Austria. At the Henri Tomasi International Wind Quintet Competition in Marseille the ensemble won third prize. It also won the prize for the best performance of a composition by Tomasi, which is included in their new album.
In June 2017 the Belfiato Quintet issued its debut CD (Foerster, Haas, Janáček), followed by the very successful album Antonín Rejcha – Wind Quintets. For the performances of Rejcha’s quintets on their album, the Belfiato Quintet won the 2019 Classic Prague Award in the Chamber Music Performance category.
