Vojtěch Procházka Trio

Amoeba's Dance

Catalogue Number: ANI018-2
Published: 1st March 2010
Genre: Jazz
Pianist, composer and arranger Vojtěch Procházka gained recognition for his work in Vertigo Quintet, yet it was only after long years of studying in Paris and Norway that he decided to record a CD of his own.

With uncommon ways of handling the prepared piano, nods towards freejazz, avantgarde or Scandinavian folk music and stunning performances by Norwegian drummer Tore Sandbakken and bassist Adrian Myhr, Amoeba’s Dance is one of the most unique Czech jazz recordings of the previous decade, both for Procházka’s original compositions and the trio’s advanced renditions of songs by Kurt Weill, Herbie Nichols or Paul Motian.
