Playful Clarinet

The swinging step of Jobim's "Girl From Ipanema," the wild revel of Monti's "Czardas" or the virtuosity of Rimsky-Korsakov's "Flight of the Bumblebee" and Debussy's "The Girl With the Flaxen Hair"... These and a number of other classics by a wide variety of composers and genres are like colorful beads strung into a beautiful necklace treasured by its owner. This is the new album by the outstanding Czech clarinetist Ludmila Peterková. The stylish arrangements leave enough room for virtuosity and the lyrical singing of her clarinet, supported by Irina Kondratěnko's sensitive, dynamic accompaniment. After her previous "serious albums" Ludmila enjoyed these pearls and hopes that her listeners will find the same joy and delight in them.
